Gun-Hee a Day/198 of 366

Another action shot with the milkring
(or, judging by yesterday’s comments, another pic of his “manly bits”).

    1. I have to say that Gun-Hee’s butt is quite a happy thing. I was having a slightly unhappy moment, scrolled down my friends page, and my eye caught sight of kitty butt, and I was happy again!

  1. This is a stupid question, but I’ve been wondering about for months now. What is a ‘milkring’? Is it a cat treat, a piece of plastic or something else entirely?

    1. They’re the little discard rings that come under a cap on a milk container.
Techincally, I guess what he’s playing with is a milk tab because it’s not a contiguous circle…which as a kitten Gun-Hee didn’t care about, but as he got older, he showed a decided preference for the “full circle” type…to the point where I would buy the one brand of milk that had the solid rings over the other (less expensive) brands that have the milk “tabs”…
      Here’s a photo of 5 milkrings on a kitten.
      And…they have their own website!
Are those your Abys? They’re lovely!

      1. Ah, thank you for explaining this for me! I can see how those round ones would make an excellent cat toy 🙂
When I first saw a picture of Gun-Hee with one, I thought it was a hard cat treat with milk flavour. But when you posted the picture of him couple of days ago with one that was not a full circle, I started to doubt that conclusion. You see here in Finland all our milk comes in carton boxes, like this.
Yes, those are my abys Inspector Morse AKA Mummy’s Boy and Princess Miso AKA Little Monster. They will be 7 months next week. Naturally, I think that besides Gun-Hee they are the most adorable cats on the planet … 🙂

        1. Here in the States milk comes in cartons like that, and in plastic jugs, like this.
Your cats are lovely! I don’t know if I could have managed two Abys at once!
Where in Finland are you? I have always wanted to go there. I have friends in Sweden, and I’ve been there, but I’ve not made it to Finland yet.

          1. I find these little cultural differences fascinating. One of my favourite things to do when visiting New Zealand (SO is from there) is to go to the grocery store and look at all the different packages and items. O_o
We don’t have any other pets (the fish don’t count), so I think getting two Abys at the same time was actually easier than getting just one. When we are at work they have each other for company and they entertain each other a great deal. With just one we would have been the only source of entertainment. If we had only gotten Miso, I think my hair would have turned gray by now 😉
Whereabouts in Sweden have you visited? For the most of the year I’m in Turku on the South-West coast. For summer (tourist season) I’m the capital. When you come to Europe next, you should definitely come to Finland, too! Finland is like Sweden, only very different 😉

            1. OMG so do I! Whenever I travel, I always want to go to grocery stores.
My friends live in Skövde, and I’ve taken the train with them from Gotebörg to Stockholm.
We have other cats, but Gun-Hee was the only Aby. We used to joke that we’d have come home to total wreckage because, well one Aby was crazy enough…two would bring the ceiling down!
              Nice to meet you!
Oh, you may laugh…I love Marko Haavisto & Poutahauket and Värttinä…
