Aby-a-Day – Day 281 of 365

When the squirrels refused to come down from the trees, Jacoby and I went to investigate the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Flagstaff Hill.


His tail cracks me up in this photo. It looks like it’s a yard long and weighs 50lbs!


That round thing in the background is an actual WWI North Sea mine turned into a mine-sweepers’ memorial. It always reminds me of a Gilligan’s Island episode.


The monument has some really intricate bronze bas-relief scenes of Civil War events.


Some of the figures have had a hard 150 years out there in the Boston weather, though.


Nothing, really, worth losing your head over, though…
