The last time we went to the Korean supermarket, I saw smelt on sale in the fish department and got an idea.
I bought a few of the little fishes and laid them out to see what the cats would do.
I’m sure it will come as no surprise that Jacoby was the first to investigate.
He quickly grabbed one and started batting it around (completely justifying my laying down of newspaper, thank you very much).
Abyssinians, more than most cats, seem to need to “see” things with their hands as well as their eyes.
Jake picked them up by their tails! That made me laugh.
He also seemed to think that all the fish needed to be on the floor and not in the pan (once again, good on me for thinking to put down the newspaper)!
He did eventually stop playing with them and start eating them, though.
And, when he had decided he’d had enough, he very conscientiously tried to bury the leftover fish to save them for later.
