The recycle bin in our building yields some wonderful treasures. Recently, my husband found a discarded plastic dump truck. He thought it was cute and he thought we could keep cat toys in it.
It works quite well as a kitty toy box, as a matter of fact. Although I don’t think Angel likes us to put all the toys in one place.
It’s so hard to find the one you want when they’re all put away neatly!
And then half the time, it turns out that the one toy you really want isn’t even in the bin…
There must be something in the air, because here’s another Aby in need of a new home. Her foster mom, Leigh Armstrong, explains:
Freddie has been through a lot in the past year. She was effectively abandoned by her owner and spent 2 weeks alone locked in an apartment. As a result, it took her a long time to warm up to us when we took her in as a foster. Within 6 weeks, though, she was sleeping in bed with us, following us around the house to give us the benefit of her Aby supervisory talents, playing laser tag, and chasing her tail.
We have been fostering her for the past 9 months and during the time she was our only cat, she was thriving. However, our adoption of two kittens has made it clear that she needs to be in an only-cat home.
She is 5 years old, spayed, and microchipped. It takes her some time to warm up to new people, so her new humans will need to be patient for the first few weeks. She prefers quiet adults, and she is tolerant of but not friendly to children. She is extremely vocal and loves to play and to sit in your lap.
She was leash-trained by her previous owner, and she loves it when we harness her and take her out in the garden when it’s warm. She’s on the small side and weighed under 7 lbs at her last vet visit. She is extremely intolerant of fish in her diet, and right now is on a novel protein diet eating only duck (Instinct or Natural Balance canned). Other than the fish intolerance, her health is excellent and she is up to date on vaccinations. She is fastidious in her grooming and litter box perfect. Her claws are capped as she likes to scratch rugs.
