It’s Valentine’s season!
Everywhere you look, advertisements are showing you what “love” is.
Billboards, commercials, full-page ads in newspapers and magazines…you can’t escape it.
The message behind the ad, regardless of medium, seems to be that “love” has a price tag.
You want to show someone your love? Buy them that diamond or Pandora bracelet or new Lexus you didn’t give them for Christmas.
But that’s not really “love,” is it? (And doesn’t Jake remind you of Chessie in this photo?)
Love isn’t about how much you spend.
Love is coming in to a room where your loved one is, without being asked, and tucking yourself on their shoulder and under their chin. And purring.
That’s what real love is.
We watched Law & Order together for about three hours. Sadly, eventually I did have to get up, but I managed to extricate myself without disturbing Jacoby.
Jakey is my Valentine.
