Aby-a-Day – 22 August: Alfred the mighty hunter (Thursday Things)

Ever since Alfred found that dead bird, he has been obsessed with birds when we go outside.

Freddy’s figured out that birds are in bushes. So he rushes at every set of bushes in the område. It makes him easy to find, though. Just follow the angry chirping.

After rushing the bushes, Freddy sits and stares at the bushes, looking for birds.

The funny part is, the birds were all up in the tree behind him, watching him.

  1. Koshka likes to use the Swedish word “område”, which translates as “area” or “district” but without really catching the fullnes of the word. Actually, it’s “bostadsområde” – “residential housing area” – but that sounds too clinical. “Neighborhood” isn’t an accurate translation of “område”, but is closer in spirit. We live in a good neighborhood, with kids out playing without fear of strangers and neighbors chatting.
