Racy Mooner was literally jumping through hoops to entertain her fans at the World Show last month.
She did it several times, and I was lucky enough to be able to capture her on camera.
Sort of, even with my rapid-fire SLT camera, Racy is fast! These last three were taken about 1/8th of a second apart…and she’s still a blur.
After her landing, she composes herself…
…and then she’s ready for a treat and another go.
Of course, it must be remembered that Racy is a cat.
…Perform on command.
Sometimes, Racy didn’t feel like going through the hoop and just walked on by. It was pretty funny.
Lisa-Maria just asked Racy to do it again.
Come on, Racy, let’s go!
And now you get your treat! Good girl, Racy!
So, as I was saying yesterday, Abys’ brains are wired differently from other cats.
Maybe it’s all the inbreeding, I don’t know, but even Tessie seems to be baffled by Jacoby’s antics.
I was packing something up to mail, and had a Priority Mail envelope out on the floor…which of course Jake just had to investigate…
…while Tessie and I looked on.
He did this all by himself, I assure you. It really wouldn’t have occurred to me to put that thing on his head like that.
And he did manage to get it off all by himself, too.
…he couldn’t leave well enough alone, of course.
Aaaaannnddd…promptly got it right back on his head.
See what I mean? He’s a goofball!
The fun thing about living with Abyssinians is…well, they’re nuts. I save the green shipping bags from LL Bean because they make the best scooped-litter-disposal bags I’ve ever found. I had just gotten something I’d ordered from them and was planning on using this bag for that evening’s scoop, when Jacoby crept inside…
…and started biting it.
I can’t remember exactly what was in there, but whatever it was, it wasn’t anything that could possibly have smelled that good to a cat.
There definitely wasn’t anything in that bag that was worth licking!
Yeah…I have no idea what the attraction was.
He seriously perforated the edge of the bag, though.
And he seemed to be really proud of himself, too. As well he might – I mean, just look at all those bite holes!
Nom nom nom…
We got a second cat tree a couple of weeks ago. It was on mega-clearance, and it’s identical to the one we got on New Year’s. So we basically have cat tree bookends, but it’s cool because we’ve increased the available square footage for felines by a lot.
After the second tree was assembled, it took Jacoby about 10 minutes to figure out a new game to play…
Both Jacoby and his late brother Gun-Hee were fascinated with the washing machine. Jacoby is also unafraid of water. Last weekend, we did one load of washing, and while the machine was filling, I turned to put in the bedding. When I turned back, Jake was halfway in the washer!
This is the second load. I was hoping to catch him in the washer again. Here’s Jake watching the washer fill up.
