This is starting to be a regular thing.
Angel’s napping in a bed…
…and Izaak decides he just has to be there, too.
But look at Angel’s body language.
She seems totes okay with his intrusion!
It’s kind of funny, because she’s never really been much of a social cuddler. She did sleep with Jacoby when he was young, but that stopped as he matured. Of course Singapuras never take no for an answer, so maybe she’s just given up. Himbs doin a heckin assimilate. No resistance. So much futile.
This was today. Izaak wedged himself into Angel’s bed…again.
Although, she seems to be getting kind of used to it.
She might even, dare I say it…actually like having the little guy around?
Zak seems to really love cuddling with her. It’s funny, but they don’t really ever associate apart from the afternoon cudddle sheshes.
Maybe she just enjoys the free grooming in the spot she can’t reach.
Here’s a short video of them together…what do you think? Friends?
So this happened today.
Angel was in her bed, and Izaak wanted to be in her bed. Look at her face. She knows she can’t do anything about it.
Although, Zak was in there very awkwardly. “Yes. I am very comfortable here. Why do you ask?”
I’m not sure which is funnier, the leg over Angel’s shoulders or the tail scarf.
They stayed this way for a long time, too. I think Angel doesn’t mind it as much as she pretends…
So, remember what I said about Singapuras sharing, and the other cats just letting them get away with it?
It doesn’t always go down that way.
You know that IKEA cat bed we have? Well, Alfred was sleeping on it.
And Izaak wanted to be sleeping on it.
So, he pulled his usual “Well, I’ll cuddle on in here trick.”
Freddy wasn’t having it.
He showed Zak the meaning of the word “smackdown.”
At first, I thought Zak was going to give up.
Never underestimate the determination of a Singapura.
After the tussle, Freddy let Zak cuddle in, and they slept together peacefully after that.
Here’s a video of the whole interaction. It’s a bit long, but it’s fun to watch their interaction.
As I have said before, Singapuras are big fans of sharing…whether or not you want to share with them.
This happened the other day. That this is Angel’s bed is well established. But Izaak thought she needed company.
So he wedged himself into her bed.
Zak tried to appease Angel with some licks to her head.
I am not sure how successful that actually was, but Angel didn’t kick Zak out of her bed.
The other day, a little drama unfolded right on our living room sofa.
Dashiell was happily napping in the corner closest to the television, which also happens to get the best sunshine in the early afternoon.
But Izaak wanted to nap there.
So he pulled out the super-stealth licking manoeuver. You start out with just a little friendly licking on the top of the head.
Then, when the target is lulled into docility…
…Zak starts to make his move.
And there you go: Singapuras always get the best napping spot in the house. Regardless if someone is already napping there.
Here’s a little video of Zak assimilating Dash’s napping spot. Resistance is futile!
Kylie’s favourite place to sleep and hang out these days is the box part of the very highest cat shelf in the living room.
She can see everyone, but we can’t reach her.
In her mind, it’s perfect.
But of course, Jacoby likes it, too, because it’s high. The other night, he was up in the box…when Kylie wanted to be there.
Kylie was pretty upset about it, too.
The look in her eyes says, “Make him move!” But look at Jake’s face…
…look at that smug grin he’s got! He knows that’s her favourite spot, but he’s not going to move. Such a bratty boy!
There’s a little ritual in my family, handed down to me by my mother, involving the turkey neck that comes inside the whole bird along with the giblets.
Basically, in my family, the neck is a little big dinner preview. We cook it, plain with just a little salt and pepper, and maybe a touch of garlic.
Once I eat the meat off the neck, I throw the bones to the lions.
They are, as you can see, very popular around our house.
The Abys, especially, love the turkey neckbones.
As you can imagine, it’s a bit difficult for Angel to get a shot at the bones without being interrupted.
*Sigh* Super-Jake strikes again.
Partially inspired by Tessie and Angel earlier this month, because I’m almost certain that she was in the bed first and Tessie joined her, rather than the other way around.
But Jacoby totally does this. He does it to me all the time, and I’m sleeping in a queen-sized bed!
