When I take a nap on a winter weekend afternoon, I can always count on a little cute company.
It’s really hard to document the adorableness, though; as soon as I start moving, they wake up, too.
And, just like…
…the cuteness is gone, replaced by surly, just-woken faces.
As soon as Jacoby sees I’m awake – and he can always tell, no matter how still I am – he comes over to get some pettings.
For some reason, Jake likes to groom himself up close to my head when he wakes up.
Apparently my pillow is a much better location for cleaning paws than the foot of the bed. Who knew?
I guess he kicks up a lot of dust washing his paws, because after a grooming session, Jake usually sneezes.
Jake doesn’t like it when you laugh at the faces he makes when he sneezes.
I found a bomber jacket to match Jacoby’s trapper hat, and of course I had to get it for him!
He really likes it.
It matches his hat so well!
It’s really a nicely made jacket, too. It zips up the back, and it has leash loops at the top of the zipper.
There’s a stretchy panel at the chest, and the jacket is insulated with a fleece lining.
Jake knows he looks good in it! And it’s so warm.
When I first tried the jacket on him, Jake was napping in the leopard bed.
He was a little sleepy…
He was having a lot of trouble keeping his eyes open…
He actually fell asleep wearing his new jacket…I couldn’t take it off him while he was sleeping, so I just left it on.
It must be very comfortable to wear!
He slept wearing his jacket for three hours.
He didn’t wake up and let me take it off him until it was time to eat.
He was purring pretty hard when I was taking these photos, too…I recorded it to save the sound for posterity!
This is what our apartment looks like on any random summer Sunday afternoon:
Angel, asleep in the window seat…
…next to Kylie, who’s napping in the cloth basket.
Tessie, meanwhile, is in a bed in the other window seat, with Handsome Panther.
Jacoby prefers to sleep on his own, in the art room, in the big leopard bed. It’s funny, when they’re all in their napping spots, you almost forget there are any cats in the apartment at all!

How cute is Lionel with his little yellow blankie?
I feel awful. We got rid of the old glass coffee table. We have three new Ramvik side tables from IKEA that we use as a sort of modular, configurable, multi-piece sofa table.
Which is nice, because that glass table was unwieldy and, well, kind of ugly. It smudged so easily that it never looked clean, and it was heavy. Neither of us humans really liked it.
But Angel loved it.
I mean, she seriously loved it. It was her den, her hideout…which, considering that it was made of glass is kind of ironic, since it was completely see-through.
But it was her happy place.
The Ramvik table does have a space underneath, and we have one put together without the glass shelf to make room for her round, fleece cat bed…
…I just hope that’s good enough for her.
As I mentioned in my earlier post today, the biggest difference between Gun-Hee and his half-brother Jacoby is that Jake sleeps…
Actually, he doesn’t sleep so much as he completely crashes out! His legs are stretched out behind him and he barely opened his eyes when I took this with my iPhone.
