It took a while but spring has finally gotten to Boston.
Jacoby was enjoying the sunshine this morning.
Shhhh…don’t tell Jake it’s meant to rain most of next week…
…because despite yesterday’s post, this has been happening recently:
I mean, just look! It’s Angel…sleeping near Jacoby!
And not hissing at him! Maybe there’s hope after all!
As you all know, Angle and Tessie have never had the best relationship.
Tessie was not a welcoming matriarch when Angel joined our household.
With all that history, I was pretty happy to see this scene one recent morning.
Angel was probably in the bed first, and then Tessie joined her on the windowseat. Anyway: adorable!
Angel doesn’t get as much of the spotlight as Jacoby does in this blog, I know.
However, I’m not sure if that’s part of her master plan…It may very well be.
This week’s Photo Hunt subject is “Tanned.”
I don’t know if cats get tanned from sleeping in the sun.
If they did, Angel would definitely be bowner than she already is.
Usually, the leopard print bed in the window is Angel’s domain. But look who I found lounging in it the other day!
I guess he decided that if Angel was going to settle in the iMac, he’d have her bed.
It is a nice warm spot when the sun hits it just right.
And it has a nice, active, interesting view.
Of course, Jake’s not paying too much attention to the view when he’s trying to catch some Z’s…
This week’s Photo Hunt subject is “Yet.”
The calendar may say it’s April 11th, and Easter may have come and gone…
…but it snowed again in Boston this past Wednesday.
So despite what the calendar may tell you…
…it’s not spring yet.
So we’ve had a bit of snow here in New England…
Jacoby was very interested in watching the flakes fall on Tuesday.
One great thing about our apartment is that is has a lot of windows.
It was really odd to see our normally busy intersection completely empty save for the occasional snowplow or maintenance vehicle.
Oh, yes, and the poor dog owners, who had to take their dogs out in that blizzard so they could go to the bathroom.
Jake and I had a good chuckle at their expenses, I have to admit!
It appears that in the world of good places to nap, at least as far as Jacoby’s concerned, warmth trumps cushiness.
He’ll lounge on the hard wooden floor if it’s got a nice warm sunpatch.
“Hey. You know, instead of standing there taking photos, you COULD be a lamb and fetch me a pillow…”
“…Now. Now would be good.”
Our room at the NEMO show last weekend was a patio room – it had a sliding glass door overlooking the pool.
Jacoby was fascinated with the giant window.
I think he stayed awake all Friday night looking out at the rest of the hotel.
He was pretty cranky the next morning. But it was so cute watching him look out the window.
“Oh, yay! You’re back on my side of the window again!”
Once upon a time, Angel and Jacoby would sleep together.
Well, mostly. Angel wasn’t entirely welcoming when Jake first tried to join her on the windowsill.
But after a while…
…she’d relax and they’d snooze together.
These photos were taken in September 2009, and I had such high hopes that Jake and Angel would turn out to be the best of friends.
Guess I should have picked up on the warning signs!
And he looked so innocent, too…
We have this awesome little cloth basket/box.
It was originally a gift basket filled with cheese, crackers and wine that my boss got for his birthday.
When he emptied the contents, he asked me if I wanted it.
I saw its potential instantly and, of course, snapped it up and brought it home. I put it on one of the window seats.
As it happens, one of my friend Kate’s Big Daddy catnip pads fits perfectly inside. And it’s not the only thing that fits perfectly inside, either.
This basket is perfectly cat shaped.
I call it the “cat loaf pan.”
